Invest in your learning
Learning a language takes a long time, especially if you want to so set aside enough time to invest in your new skill! The more lessons you do, the which means to see the best results, you’ll want to spend quality time focused on completing several lessons at a time.
(Yes… that means turning off the playlist you’re listening to or the show you’re watching in the background, and doing more than just enough to keep your streak alive!
Focus on new lessons
There are options for additional practice in your customized Practice Hub in addition to new lessons in the primary learning “route” of your Duolingo language course. Make sure you spend the majority of your time on *new* stuff if you want to learn as much as possible! This will help you advance and continue to acquire the grammar and vocabulary necessary for communication.
It’s common to want to practice until you achieve “perfection,” whatever that may be, but pushing yourself to your limit is the best way to learn.
Turn the volume up
The majority of learners find hearing to a new language more difficult than reading it, but make sure to keep the sound on if you want to have authentic discussions! You should give your ear every opportunity to pick up the language’s rhythm and sounds, and Duolingo allows you to repeat dialogues and sentences until you feel at ease.
Expert advice: Regardless of the style of lesson, repeat the words and sentences aloud on your own!
Speak every chance you get
There are lots of speaking lessons built right into your Duolingo course—but your speaking practice doesn’t have to end there!
